2012 humber bridge sculpture | interactive arts
This past August Interactive Arts brought a few creatures, seemingly from the depths of lake Ontario, to the Humber Bay pedestrian bridge. These larger than life critters swim overhead as you cross the bridge, lighting the night with their bio-luminescence LED lights blinking in response to their surroundings. The Dupont and Spadina Corner Collective | Light up our alley!
The Dupont and Spadina Corner Collective is about beautifying their corner of the city. Greening it up with some gardening, adding the joy of art in the place of illegal billboards and filling the streets with community gatherings. Beautiful City
The Beautiful city project is an alliance made up of over sixty organizations that came together to help beautify Toronto. They did this through public consultations and working with municipal government to place a tax on billboard ads to fund the arts. On April 10 2010 the billboard tax passed and the aesthetic landscape of Toronto is indebted to Beautiful City for the effort it took to make this happen. Thank you.
